After Birth Medical Update

Thank-you all for checking out the blog.
If you would like to see individual pictures of the puppies please look at the left side of the screen and click on the posting called "Meet The Puppies!"

Scarlett went to the vet yesterday to get checked out and she is physically doing great. She is producing enough milk for all 11 puppies and there were no infections in the milk. From what the vet could tell there was no left behind puppy inside her or any tissue from the placenta's. They still give a shot in case some tissue was left behind, so infections don't occur.
The puppies went in this morning to get their tails docked and to get their physicals. "All puppies are healthy and are doing great"! From what the vet could tell today, there was no heart murmur's discovered, deformed air ways, throat issues, nothing.
In about 10-11 days their eyes should open and they'll be able to see and they will also be able to hear around that time as well. Each day there is a visible difference in the puppies. Some can very briefly lift their head. The blue merle's are the biggest in the litter, while the red tri's seems to be the smallest in the litter right now.
All the puppies will head back to the vet at 6 weeks (last week of October) for another physical, their shots, and to make sure none of them have worms.
